Pool Construction Field Manager

Currin Outdoor Living is seeking an experienced Pool Construction Field Manager to oversee the quality and execution of our custom concrete pool projects. In this role, you will be the primary point of contact for our subcontractors, ensuring that every phase of construction meets our high standards for quality, safety, and timeliness.

As the Pool Construction Field Manager your responsibilities will include:

  • Offer feedback on designs to our design team to enhance the outcome of pool projects.
  • Work with our design team to produce estimates for pool projects and communicate selections to clients as needed.
  • Manage and coordinate subcontractor schedules, ensuring seamless transitions between construction phases (excavation, steel, plumbing, gunite, decking, etc.).
  • Visit active job sites daily to inspect construction quality, verify adherence to plans/codes, and ensure site safety.
  • Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with subcontractors, holding them accountable to our performance standards and deadlines.
  • Monitor material deliveries and ensure all necessary equipment is on-site and staged correctly.
  • Proactively identify and troubleshoot field issues, providing solutions to keep projects on track.
  • Communicate project progress, delays, or needs effectively to the Director of Operations, project team, and clients.
  • Maintain accurate daily construction logs, photos, and project documentation.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions, demonstrating resilience in hot, cold, and variable outdoor conditions.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in custom concrete pool construction or a related high-end hardscape field.
  • Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors, vendors, and construction schedules.
  • A valid Driver’s License with a clean record.

Ideal Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven technical knowledge of concrete pool structural requirements, plumbing/hydraulic systems, and finish installation.
  • Have taken and passed pool construction courses with Watershape University or Genesis.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented – must be able to follow and execute complex processes, track and maintain to-do lists, and comply with rigid deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills – must be able to manage difficult conversations with subcontractors/clients and provide professional, clear updates to clients and internal leadership.
  • Strong ability and interest to learn and utilize construction technology tools and platforms.
  • High level of character and integrity.
  • Be Humble (willing and able to give and receive feedback), Hungry (possess a desire to learn, grow, and succeed), and Smart (able to understand and adjust how they relate to other people).

Physical Demands
The position requires various physical activities, including standing for long periods, walking on uneven terrain, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, reaching, lifting, carrying, and handling construction materials. Candidates must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds.

Work Environment
The physical demands of this position include being exposed to various outdoor conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and humidity. You will frequently work on active construction sites involving heavy machinery, noise, vibrations, and dust.

  • Proximity to moving mechanical parts and heavy equipment.
  • Potential exposure to electrical hazards and hazardous materials (e.g., concrete, PVC glue, pool chemicals).
  • Working on or near wet, slippery surfaces or uneven terrain.
