Summary The Hardscape Field Manager is responsible for leading and working alongside a crew of 2-4 team members to complete hardscape projects. This role involves managing daily operations, including reading and interpreting designs, work orders, and blueprints, and ensuring that all project tasks are executed efficiently and to the highest standards. The Field Manager will handle material orders, equipment operation (such as mini excavators, skid steers, concrete saws, and more), and ensure proper equipment maintenance. |
Essential Functions · Lead and work with hardscape crew of 2-4 team members · Complete daily task logs and hour tracking · Read designs, work orders, and blueprints for each project · Confirm and order materials for each assigned project · Operate equipment not limited to mini excavators, skid steers, concrete saw, grinder, plate compactor, etc. · Drive light duty dump truck and adhere to proper trailering methods · Check and maintain equipment and trucks · Organize shop and trucks to keep an orderly work environment · Communicate and coordinate with production manager for assigned project tasks |
Required Experience · 3-5 years hardscape installation · Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record · Eligibility to work in the United States · Ability to work in-person in North Carolina · Ability to operate basic landscape equipment · Ability to drive a light duty dump truck and have trailering experience |
Ideal Qualifications and Skills: · 5+ years of installation experience in Landscape Construction/Hardscape, working with natural stone and concrete products to create patios, walls, and outdoor kitchen areas · Degree in Landscape or Construction Field · Bilingual: Ability to speak Spanish and English |

Physical Demands The position requires various physical activities, including prolonged standing, walking, stooping, crawling, kneeling, crouching, climbing, balancing, reaching, grasping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and handling. Other requirements include talking, hearing, depth perception, manual dexterity, and a wide field of vision. Candidates must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds. |
Work Environment The physical demands of this position include being exposed to various outdoor conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and humidity. You will encounter fluctuating weather patterns and work in both wet and dry environments. This role also involves frequent exposure to high noise levels from equipment and machinery, as well as vibrations from the use of power tools. Additional environmental exposures include: · Proximity to moving mechanical parts, such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and other landscaping equipment. · Potential exposure to electrical hazards, particularly when working near or with electrical systems (e.g., lighting or irrigation systems). · Atmospheric conditions, such as dust, pollen, and fumes from machinery, fertilizers, or chemicals, requiring proper safety measures. · Risk of electrical shock when using certain power tools or working around electrical systems. · Working on or near wet, slippery surfaces, or uneven terrain, which may increase the risk of slips and falls. · Bee stings and other bug bites Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. |
Travel This position is required to travel to job sites in the Triangle area. |
