Currin Outdoor Living is seeking a passionate Maintenance Crew Manager to join our team in the Spring. You'll help craft top-tier dream outdoor living spaces across the Triangle area, collaborating closely with designers and operational experts, whether the client has a small urban space or a large 5-acre plot.

Compensation & Benefits:

As the Maintenance Crew Leader your responsibilities will include:
  • Assign and assist crew members with basic maintenance tasks
  • Delegate tasks with crew to ensure quality is upheld 
  • Safely and professionally drive a truck and trailer to each jobsite
  • Properly maintenance all equipment used by your crew
  • Ensure all tasks assigned are performed by crew members in a safe, efficient, and effective way
  • Communicate with clients on site to discuss the day’s task, future tasks, out of scope needs, and build a relationship with onsite clients
Required Experience:
  • 2 years of experience in landscape maintenance
  • 2 years experience as a landscape crew leader
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
  • Knowledge of operation and care of landscape maintenance equipment
  • Detail oriented with landscape production
  • Proven problem-solving and critical thinking skills to effectively analyze situations, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently, proactively identify areas for improvement, and take ownership of projects.
  • Proficiency in using technology, including various apps and software, to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated responsibility and reliability in delivering high-quality work, meeting deadlines, and adhering to established procedures.
Ideal Qualifications and Skills:
  • 2 year or 4 year degree in landscape maintenance related field

Supervisory Responsibilities
Leading and working alongside a crew of 2-4 team members to complete landscape projects

Physical Demands
The position requires various physical activities, including prolonged standing, walking, stooping, crawling, kneeling, crouching, climbing, balancing, reaching, grasping, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and handling. Other requirements include talking, hearing, depth perception, manual dexterity, and a wide field of vision. Candidates must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 80 pounds.

Work Environment
The physical demands of this position include being exposed to various outdoor conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and humidity. You will encounter fluctuating weather patterns and work in both wet and dry environments. This role also involves frequent exposure to high noise levels from equipment and machinery, as well as vibrations from the use of power tools.
Additional environmental exposures include:

  • Proximity to moving mechanical parts, such as lawn mowers, trimmers, and other landscaping equipment.
  • Potential exposure to electrical hazards, particularly when working near or with electrical systems (e.g., lighting or irrigation systems).
  • Atmospheric conditions, such as dust, pollen, and fumes from machinery, fertilizers, or chemicals, requiring proper safety measures.
  • Risk of electrical shock when using certain power tools or working around electrical systems.
  • Working on or near wet, slippery surfaces, or uneven terrain, which may increase the risk of slips and falls.
  • Bee stings and other bug bites
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Travel
This position is required to travel to job sites in the Triangle area.
